I swear I’m not drunk.

Woohoo! I recently celebrated my twenty-third birthday. For the actual day, I went to Macelleria in the Meatpacking District of Manhattan. I stuck with my usual and got lasagna bolognese and prosecco. What can I say, I didn’t want to be disappointed trying something new on my birthday. Then we headed over to Christian Siriano’s fragrance launch party for a pre-fashion week fete with cocktails and statuesque models. I capped the night off with dancing and free cocktails at Cielo, also in the Meatpacking. If you ever want a free, no stress-all dance everything party on Wednesday night, that’s the spot.

The next day, a friend and I attended a few shows/presentations. First stop was the Well Kept Bra presentation at Pier 59 Studios. I was obsessed with all of the loungewear and sporty lingerie but the Lisa Frank-colored fishtail braid crown stole the show. Next we stopped by Gansevoort Hotel for NYLON Mag bloggers retreat. There were makeup and hair touchups accompanied by massages from Exhale Spa and brew and Juice Press. I’m not one to wear much makeup on a regular basis but it was fun to have my face “beat” to kick off Fashion Week.

Our next stop was at the HONOR show at ArtBeam studios in Chelsea . To sum it up, the vibe was Candy Crush Celestial Bride and it was amazing to attend my first real fashion show. We made a pit stop for lunch at M Thai in Chelsea – can’t beat a $6.95 lunch special.

Finally, we ended the day attending Ulla Johnson presentation. The vibe gave me Urban Cowbabe.

The next day I stopped by the Refinery29 Country Club in SoHo and pretended I knew how to play mini golf. Then I attended the Russell Simmons ARGYLE CULTURE show. I loved the ’80s hip-hop runway music and the inclusion of female models dressed tomboy style.

Fashion Week continues…
