Everyone celebrates happy hour from time to time, but I wanted to tell you a little more about Aperitivo Hour – an authentic Italian tradition that we’d like to see a little more of here in the states.
The Italian-style Apertivo is a pleasant, summery way to start your evening with friends after a long day’s work. Be transported to Milan or Rome in your own neighborhood between the hours of , when many Italians are gathering with friends to sip on refreshing cocktails and enjoy lite bites.
Two classic cocktails are specifically popular during this time including the Aperol Spritz and Americano made with Campari. Because both are low in alcohol (the very definition of an aperitivo), it is perfect for early afternoon drinking and a few rounds to socialize. Aperitivo Hour is enjoyed across Italy, and is now becoming a lively fixture in some of your favorite local watering holes.
